"People love putting labels on each other. Then they feel safe. People tried making me into a lesbian. I laughed. No sex is wrong if there's love in it." - Marilyn Monroe There's a lot of rumours floating around that many are starting to believe that the beautiful Joan Crawford & Marilyn Monroe had an affair. From what I've read about their relationship, Joan was never a huge fan of Marilyn to begin with. Apparently there is a audio tape of "proof" that this affair happened, but no one has ever heard this so called audio proof. The audio supposedly comes from a session with Marilyn & her doctor, with Marilyn "confessing" what had happened. It's nothing but scandal & slander. A story to manipulate the two amazing stars as we know them for publicity. Harsh, but true. To put it bluntly Marilyn Monroe never had sex with Joan Crawford. Now since Marilyn is known as the world's most recognizable sex symbol, people often think she was an overly sexual person. Truth is she feared sex for a long time, she didn't really like it. When she was first married she said, "Can I get married without having sex?" She didn't understand the sexual natures of others or the sexual nature she spiked in others. As Marilyn is popularly known as the epitome of infidelity to the people who lack knowledge of her, she was actually the complete opposite. She was truly an innocent soul.
"I used to lie awake at night wondering why the boys came after me. I didn't want them that way. I wanted to play games in the street, not in the bedroom."
So she was continuously misunderstood, and still is. Now the 'affair' with Joan is completely false. The two did have an encounter when they first met when Joan tried to help Marilyn with a new wardrobe. Suggesting a new, reserved style. Marilyn never called Joan, basically denying her help. But that's all it was. But there is no evidence that Marilyn and her had sex. Being the person Marilyn was with her gay friends, like Montgomery Clift, she would have an open mind and undoubtedly wouldn't doubt any feelings she had towards women, if she had any. She was very understanding and such an activist of gay rights in a time when it wasn't so common or accepted. She wrote in her personal journal that would later become part of her biography that she wrote herself, My Story, "A man who had kissed me once had said it was very possible that I was a lesbian because apparently I had no response to males - meaning him. I didn’t contradict him because I didn’t know what I was. Now, having fallen in love, I knew what I was. It wasn’t a lesbian." It's amazing how stories & lies are brought to life after someone has passed. Making false stories about someone who isn't here to defend themselves, for what? Publicity? Money? The moral of the story is the affair never happened. The End. (Note): I hope this post doesn't offend anyone. I am not trying to hurt anyone's feelings. I am a proud supporter of the LGBT Community and I am not trying to step on anyone's toes, I am simply separating fact from rumour. Love, Minnie.
